Leishmaniasis is a tropical parasitic disease caused by different species of protozoa from the genus Leishmania<\/em>. The program includes the Proficiency Testing (PT)<\/a>, also known as External Quality Assessment (EQA), which follows the criteria of ABNT NBR ISO\/IEC 17043<\/strong>. This PT stands out by obtaining the complete genetic material of the parasite. This allows the reporting of any molecular method, providing the most comprehensive monitoring of the analytical routine.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

By participating in the PT, the laboratory conducts a periodic inter-laboratory comparison of results to evaluate the accuracy of the results and the effectiveness of monitoring the analytical processes.<\/p>

The laboratory that opts to participate in a proficiency program finds in the solution the continuous improvement of its process, not just compliance with a legal requirement (CFMV Resolution No. 1374<\/a>).<\/p>
