The meeting will bring together national and international experts to share scientific updates.<\/em><\/p>

From April 14 to 17, Belo Horizonte (MG), Brazil, will host the International Conference on New Trends in Microbial Identification<\/a>. Focused on the theme \u201cUse of MALDI-TOF MS, FT-IR and Molecular Biology\/LAMP\u201d<\/strong>, the event aims to foster exchanges among specialists to discuss advances and challenges in microorganism characterization and identification.<\/p>

The program brings together researchers and professionals from Brazil and abroad to share experiences, update knowledge, and strengthen technical and scientific dialogue in the field.<\/p>

Controllab joins the scientific program<\/strong><\/p>

Controllab<\/a> is supporting the event and is part of the scientific program. On April 15, Microbiology Manager Shirley Lima will present the lecture \u201cMALDI-TOF and Proficiency Testing: Analytical Accuracy Under New Microbial Challenges.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

The presentation will address how external evaluation of microorganisms has revealed difficulties in identification. The results highlight the need for updated databases and reinforce the importance of interlaboratory monitoring to enhance diagnostic reliability.<\/p>

The conference features renowned experts, including Dr. Nelson Lima from the University of Minho (Portugal)<\/a>, one of the event\u2019s presidents and current president of the World Federation for Culture Collections (WFCC)<\/a>.<\/p>

The event is organized by Solu\u00e7\u00f5es para Eventos Cient\u00edficos (SEC)<\/a>, the Micoteca of the University of Minho (MUM)<\/a>, and the Agricultural Research Company of Minas Gerais (EPAMIG)<\/a>, combining different areas of expertise to deliver the conference.<\/p>
