On March 28, the date that ALAPAC\/ML starts, Controllab will contribute to the Benchmarking and Laboratory Indicator Workshop<\/em><\/p>\n

The XXV Congress<\/b><\/a><\/u> of the Latin American Association of Clinical Pathology Laboratory Medicine (ALAPAC\/ML) will take place at the end of March. The international scientific event is another one that adapts to the \u201cnew normal\u201d, bringing to the public a virtual edition from March 28 to 31.<\/p>\n

On the first day of the event, Controllab<\/b><\/a><\/u>, the largest quality control provider in Brazil and Latin America, will participate in the Congress<\/b><\/a><\/u> sharing experiences on Benchmarking of Indicators, through the Service Management Supervisor, Luiza Bottino.<\/p>\n

“The expectation is for the exchange of knowledge with the Latin American public, making them aware of the importance of self-assessment and knowledge of their performance in relation to market players”, comments the Supervisor.<\/p>\n

In two acts, Luiza will contribute a lecture to participants on the functioning of the Benchmarking and Laboratory Indicators Program (PBIL)<\/b>, developed in association with SBPC\/ML – Brazilian Society of Clinical Pathology\/Laboratory Medicine<\/b>, a partner of Controllab since 1977. Then, she will speak again on practical examples of the PBIL, compared to IFCC and other references. These examples point to possibilities for improvements in the laboratories, ensuring quality, credibility and patient safety.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this Workshop, we will provide participants with a better knowledge of benchmarking, at an international level, showing how the tool contributed to improving the management and performance of the laboratory\u201d, concludes Luiza Bottino.<\/p>\n

In addition to the contributions of Controllab<\/b>, the Benchmarking Workshop will be attended by representatives from SBPC\/ML and will discuss other issues related to the solution, such as:<\/p>\n

– Theoretical concepts on performance indicators;<\/p>\n

– Concepts about benchmarking, importance, good practices and how the tool can lead to laboratory excellence;<\/p>\n

– Harmonization of Indicators;<\/p>\n

– Practical examples of using benchmarking, including the experience of a laboratory in Chile and Ecuador.<\/p>\n
