\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tControllab participates in an article published from a pioneering research with Brazilian laboratories, aiming to expand knowledge on the subject and encourage the continuing education of professionals in the area<\/em>\r\n\r\nSeeking to promote the recycling of knowledge and the improvement of laboratory activities, Controllab<\/strong><\/a>, the largest quality control provider in Brazil and Latin America, develops educational activities<\/strong><\/a> together with its advisors. This work has been perpetuated thanks to the accumulated experience and the constant exchange of information with customers.\r\n\r\nAmong the quality control programs offered by the provider, the Proficiency Testing for Sediment Urinalysis stands out. This program includes virtual items of sediment slides for the identification of urinary elements, among them, the “Epithelial Cells”.\r\n\r\nConsidering the clinical importance of differentiating these cells as Squamous, Transitional and Tubular Renal1<\/sup>, Controllab carried out a survey in May 2018 with the laboratories participating in the program. The initiative aimed to understand how the analysis and release of epithelial cells was performed in the routine.\r\n\r\nDue to the importance of the subject and through the results of the survey, where most laboratories only identify this element in a generic way in their routine, at the initiative of the program’s scientific advisor, Dr. Jos\u00e9 Poloni – professor at the Unisinos Health School, it was Published article Survey on reporting of epithelial cells in urine sediment as part of external quality assessment programs in Brazilian laboratories.\r\n\r\nThe article shows the importance of distinguishing epithelial cells in routine, considering the clinical relevance in pathological processes in the presence of Renal Tubular cells.\r\n\r\nThis was the first research on the subject carried out with Brazilian laboratories.
