Meningitis is a dangerous inflammation of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord, mainly caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses.<\/p><p>Bacterial meningitis tends to be more serious: it leads to a significant number of deaths per year; it can cause rapidly spreading epidemics and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paho.org\/pt\/noticias\/28-9-2021-oms-e-parceiros-pedem-acao-urgente-contra-meningite\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>leave sequelae in infected people.<\/strong><\/a><\/p><p>Vaccination is still the best way <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itatiaia.com.br\/editorias\/brasil\/2022\/10\/11\/surto-de-meningite-em-sao-paulo-pode-ameacar-minas-gerais-entenda-o-que-e-a-doenca-e-como-se-prevenir\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>to prevent meningitis<\/strong><\/a>. At the same time, rapid and accurate diagnosis contributes to therapeutic success and outbreak control.<\/p><p>The issuance of accurate reports with the identification of the infectious agent includes routines with several stages of analysis. These routines require rigorous and periodic monitoring of the processes. To support these analyses, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.controllab.com\"><strong>Controllab<\/strong><\/a> provides solutions for laboratory quality control.<\/p><p>Among the solutions, we highlight the <a href=\"https:\/\/controllab.com\/en\/program\/crm-qualitative-reference-cultures\/\"><strong>reference strains<\/strong><\/a>, which include some etiologic agents that cause bacterial meningitis.
