The Online Meeting was delivered by Dr. Aline Moreira de Souza, a veterinarian and Full Professor at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Federal Fluminense University (UFF). She has been teaching Veterinary Clinical Pathology at both undergraduate and graduate levels since 2009 and has coordinated LABHUVET/UFF since 2012.
The session covered the main aspects of hemoparasitic diseases in animals, including the most relevant hemoparasites, their history, pathophysiology, and clinical signs, as well as laboratory findings, diagnostic methods, and image analysis of blood smears.
With up-to-date content, the training helped participants correlate laboratory and clinical findings, accurately interpret results from parasitized animals, and analyze images of hemoparasites—strengthening the reliability of reports and providing safe and effective support for clinical decision-making.
