The Online Meeting was delivered by Dr. Gustavo Loureiro, a clinical pathologist with a PhD from UNIFESP, who works in specialized biochemistry at Grupo Fleury and has extensive experience in monoclonal gammopathies, electrophoresis, immunofixation, and specialized medical consulting.
The lecture covered the concepts and physiology of paraproteinemias and monoclonal gammopathies, including immunoglobulins and the main clinical entities, as well as laboratory tests such as serum and urine electrophoresis and immunofixation, free light chains, and Bence-Jones proteinuria.
It also presented the practical interpretation of laboratory findings, considering sensitivity, methodological limitations, and current guidelines.
With up-to-date content, the training helped participants choose appropriate tests, interpret results in an integrated manner, recognize the limitations of the methods, and communicate clinically in suspected or confirmed cases of monoclonal gammopathies.
