The Online Meeting was presented by Dr. Célia Garlipp, Associate Professor at the School of Medical Sciences of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and faculty member responsible for the Biological Fluids Section of the Clinical Pathology Division at UNICAMP’s Hospital de Clínicas.

The session covered the formation of body cavity fluids, the classification of effusions, and proper sample collection procedures. Cytological, biochemical, and microbiological analyses of pleural and peritoneal fluids were also discussed, along with Quality Control.

The session helped participants deepen their understanding of the laboratory evaluation of pleural and peritoneal effusions, highlighting the importance of integrating different parameters to ensure accurate interpretation of results.
