Meeting in India brings together experts from different countries to discuss advances and challenges in point-of-care testing.
The expansion of point-of-care testing (POCT) is helping bring diagnostics closer to patients and broaden access to testing. This progress also presents an essential challenge: ensuring the reliability of results, regardless of where testing is performed.
This topic will be discussed at the WorldLab 2026 POCT Satellite Meeting, taking place on October 24 in New Delhi, India, with a focus on advances and opportunities in POCT in developing countries.
Controllab will be part of the program with the presentation “Ensuring Quality in POCT: Lessons from Latin America,” delivered by Luiza Bottino, Controllab’s Service Research and Development manager. The presentation will bring practical experiences and strategies to the international discussion on promoting the quality and reliability of results obtained through these tests.
From Brazilian experience to the international discussion
In Brazil, Controllab provides Quality Control solutions for POCT, including Proficiency Testing and Internal Quality Control. These initiatives also include the Batch-to-Batch Certification Program, which enables healthcare services to evaluate the performance of new device lots before they are introduced into routine use and provides objective evidence of this evaluation.
By sharing these experiences at WorldLab 2026, Controllab expands Brazil’s contribution to a global discussion: how to keep pace with the growth of POCT while implementing practices that promote reliable results and support safe decisions in patient care.
Quality must also be present wherever diagnosis happens.
