Events bring together international experts to discuss technological advances, clinical diagnostics, digital transformation, and quality in laboratory medicine.
From April 22 to 24, 2026, Hospital Santo Tomás (HST), a leading public institution in Central America and the Caribbean, will host the II Congress and the XXIX Scientific Seminar on Clinical Laboratory in Panama.
Under the theme “La IA: Transformando la Medicina de Laboratorio”, the event will highlight how clinical laboratories are evolving in response to challenges driven by artificial intelligence. The objective is to promote a multidisciplinary approach that ensures quality of care, from research to clinical practice.
Controllab Participation
The company will take part in the event as an exhibitor and as part of the scientific program, with Dr. José Poloni, education manager, and technical support analyst Thamiris Aguiar.
On April 23, Dr. Poloni will present “Evaluación en el laboratorio de la función renal: aportes del uroanálisis”, highlighting the role of urinalysis in assessing renal function and diagnostic quality.
On April 24, Thamiris will deliver the presentation “Ensayos de aptitud con múltiples muestras: una estrategia para mayor confiabilidad y valor clínico”, focusing on strategies that enhance the reliability of analytical results.

International Quality Symposium
Before the HST event, Controllab, together with local partner PROMED, will hold the International Quality Symposium on April 20 at 1:00 p.m. (Panama time) for the regional audience. The meeting will be online, free of charge, and conducted in spanish, bringing together leading professionals who will share trends and best practices for analytical quality.
