Expert highlighted the modernization of equipment and scientific production presented at an event in California.
The new edition of Talking About Event highlights relevant aspects of the annual meeting of the ADLM – Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine, previously called AACC, which took place between the 23rd and 27th of July, in Anaheim, California.
The doctor in molecular pharmacology and coordinator of the genomics sector at Sabin Medicina Diagnóstica, Gustavo Barra, was interviewed by Controllab’s educational manager, José Tesser Poloni. Both were at the California congress and talked about the topics covered.
Dr. Gustavo highlighted the major modernization of equipment in the area of molecular biology, which was initiated to meet the demand that the Covid-19 pandemic demanded from the segment, and remains at an advanced pace.
Scientific production and the promotion of knowledge
The expert pointed out scientific production, the use of data to assist laboratory professionals and the possibility of exchanging information with congressmen from all over the world as highlights of the event.
Dr. Gustavo presented two scientific abstracts at the congress, one regarding screening for congenital Cytomegalovirus in newborns, and the other, on benchmarking molecular and bioinformatics tools.
Controllab presented a scientific summary about its pioneering spirit in quality control. The material addresses the first Brazilian external quality assessment program for Monkeypox molecular tests.
