Experiences Connecting Quality and Laboratory Management
How can data generated in daily laboratory operations be used to evaluate analytical performance and guide improvements? This is one of the questions that will be addressed during the scientific program on October 28.
Rafael Monsores Lopes, General Manager of Services at Controllab, will deliver a presentation titled “From Data to Decisions: The Value of Proficiency Testing in the Clinical Laboratory”, highlighting how information from External Quality Assessment (EQA) can support performance evaluation and decision-making.
The program will also feature Dr. Kléver Sáenz of Synlab Ecuador, Vice President of Accreditation at ALAPAC, who has been invited by Controllab to share his experience in two presentations.
In “KPIs and Patient Safety: Latin American Experience in a Benchmarking Program”, he will discuss the use of indicators to compare performance and identify opportunities for improvement. In another presentation, “Analytical Quality Assurance: Specifications, Performance, and the Role of Uncertainty”, he will address key technical aspects of evaluating the quality of laboratory results.

During Expo Laboratorio 2026, attendees will also have the opportunity to explore Controllab’s solutions.
