The scientific abstract presented by Controllab at the IFCC-EFLM EuroMedLab Congress has been published in Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine.
Controllab, the leading provider of quality control for laboratory tests in Latin America, had three scientific abstracts accepted at the XXV Congress IFCC-EFLM EuroMedLab, held in May 2023 in Rome, Italy.
One of these abstracts, titled “The role of the Brazilian external quality assessment program in improving glycated hemoglobin measurement,” received attention and was recently published in Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (CCLM).
CCLM is a renowned journal that publishes articles on laboratory medicine. Focused on both basic and applied research as well as cutting-edge clinical laboratory medicine, the journal is considered a benchmark in the field. All submissions to CCLM undergo review by at least two experts.
The main findings of the article highlight the importance of method standardization in measuring HbA1c to reduce measurement variability. The data used were extracted from the Glycated Hemoglobin Proficiency Testing (External Control), a continuous program with multiple items at different concentrations for analysis.
