The company will be present at the Remeq-I workshop, which is one of the event’s activities and aims to promote the exchange of experiences, technical collaboration and the integration of interests
The Brazilian Society of Metrology (SBM), the Institute of Radiation Protection and Dosimetry (IRD) and Inmetro will hold the “Metrology 2021“ event, between October 18th and 21st. The event will feature six simultaneous activities in the area.
In this event, the VI Workshop of the Inmetro Chemical Metrology Network (Remeq-I) will take place. This activity aims to bring together the various professionals of chemical metrology in Brazil in order to promote the integration of interests, exchange of experiences and technical collaboration.
Two round tables will integrate this workshop. Controllab participates in the second of the day, with the theme “Metrological tools for the quality of Covid-19’s in vitro diagnostics”. The Chemical Testing Manager, Vinícius Dias, will participate in a discussion about the production of Reference Materials (RM) and offering Proficiency Testing (PT) as actions to guarantee the quality of Covid-19’s diagnoses.
“Controllab pioneered controls for Covid-19. The agility, pioneering spirit and commitment to the laboratories made the provider conquer the first NBR ISO/IEC 17043 recognition for the main methods. Sharing about this trajectory, which involved several challenges, including developing quality control for Covid-19 while the sector itself learned with the diagnosis of the disease, will be enriching for the participants at the table”, comments Vinícius Dias.
In this activity, besides Controllab, PNCQ, Inmetro and the Rio de Janeiro Cell Bank will be present. Each of the participants will make a short ten-minute presentation, so that, at the end, there is a discussion among them, opening the floor to the spectators for questions.
Why attend the workshop?
Coordinated by Dr. Áurea Valadares, the workshop will focus on the production of standards/Reference Materials and the organization of interlaboratory comparisons/Proficiency Testing. In addition, the activity aims to raise the main difficulties faced so that Remeq-I finds solutions and partnerships that can help laboratories to overcome them.
The Inmetro Chemical Metrology Network (Remeq-I) has the mission of contributing to the reliability of measurements in chemistry in the country, spreading the culture of metrology, promoting the development and use of Reference Material, Certified Reference Material, provision Proficiency Testing and cooperation among its members to provide the productive sector with conditions to improve the quality of products and services.
The Workshop will be virtual and the roundtable with the participation of Controllab will take place from 5:00pm to 6:30pm on October 21, 2021. Registration can be made through this link.
