Certified Reference Material (CRM) is the priority recommendation of ABNT NBR ISO/IEC 17025 for metrological traceability. They are strains from the NCTC (National Collection of Type Cultures) collection, the most renowned in Europe and also the oldest collection for bacteria in the world, founded in 1920.
