Responsible for infecting more than 700 million people around the world, Norovirus requires adequate treatment to prevent the death of those infected. In this scenario, laboratories need to contribute with accurate reports to assist physicians in an efficient diagnosis.
Recently, it was reported that Rio Grande do Sul is facing an outbreak of acute diarrheal disease (ADD), caused by the virus. An alert was issued by the State Department of Health (SES) this month. Two thousand people in 25 cities have already been contaminated.
